More Family Secrets

The visit with Brody, Gerald and May Jo and all the talk about my grandfather started me thinking more about my parents and my grand parents. We looked at a lot of old photos from when they were all in high school. I get pissed off sometimes because I cannot get any information from anyone. Like I said, this is a small town so I know there are folks out there that know things about my family that I don't know. Ever since I was a kid I have noticed certain subjects are avoided. It seems strange to me that my grandmother never came here to visit. She grew up here and all her family was here. It seems strange  mostly because my mother is her daughter and she hardly knows her. I'm not stupid, something is up with that! Just gotta be.  It must be really weird for my mom. She was so young when her father died , she does not remember him and then her mother just takes off and leaves her and never looks back. I have no delusions that this is normal so I sometimes grapple with my identity.  I found out more in that one night than I have been able to in a life time so far. But looking at the pictures was really fun.

So, the big news is that I have talked it over with my parents and I am going to ride to California with Brody. When I get out there I will look up my grandmother, Sandy, and get to know her. I also have an aunt out there, my mother's half sister. I am looking forward to finding my family missing link.
